Get Pre-Approved

You will need pay stubs, W2s, and bank statements. Knowing what you can afford is critical to a successful home shopping experience.


Meet with a Real Estate Professional

Your initial meeting will be about the type of home you’re looking for, including style, price and location. As the home buyer, you’re at the advantage as your agent will cost you nothing! Home buyer agent’s commission is almost always paid by the seller of the home. 

Choose a realtor you want to work with and be in contact with during the process. Remember that not all realtors are the same – choose someone who you can vibe and get along with.

Search for Homes

The fun part! Your agent will schedule showings and help you find the perfect home. 


Make an Offer

Your agent will prepare the offer based on the price and terms you choose. 

In most cases, the contract provides you with a timeline to obtain financing, as well as a time to inspect the physical condition of the home. Your real estate professional will inform you of all your rights and responsibilities related to the contract. 



It may take a few tries to get it just right, but your agent will be working hard to represent you. 


In Escrow

You and the Seller have agreed to the price and terms. The home is effectively held for you until closing. 


Final Details

Perform due diligence, setup home inspection, order the appraisal, conduct an inspection, and review terms with the lender. 

Your agent will manage the entire process: finalizing your loan, reviewing documents, and discussing findings from the inspection. 



This is the transfer of funds and ownership. Depending on when the buyer moves into the home you will need to be all packed up and ready to move.
